Black window trim

I've noticed black window trim in some pictures and the brochure rather than what I feel is ugly chrome trim. Is this a European thing? Is it part of the sport package option with body shadows?

BMW calls the black window trim Shadowline and is part of the Sport package.

High gloss shadowline trim, it comes with the sport pack in the US. Doesn't seem like you'll get a choice to spec it without the pack.

This has been discussed in quite some detail in other treads, try searching "shadowline", should be able to get more info on the subject from that.
