Lol, yes you can get a 315 on the rear.

okay. i know a lot of people have been putting in 275/35s but i'm not sure if 275/30 is OK, and any side effects of putting a lower profile tyre?

Stock fronts and 275/30 19 rears you mean? Before going to "side effects" I have to ask what benefits are you expecting first?

Nope. rear 275/30.

I can't see anything good or worthy coming out of it, especially if you are with stock size front tires. It is not really a matter of slower etc. At the very least, you will have a horrible increase in the wheel gap and less side wall to protect your wheels. Ride comfort will worsen a bit and you will have only a fraction of more grip which I doubt you will notice. Plus, there is a slight chance that your DSC won't like it as well.

Why you do it? Someone is donating you a free 275/30 set?

I am planning to put that tire on the front for instance

Probably no increase in contact patch. It will be slightly easier to break the rear tires loose due to the decrease in wheel diameter and your speedometer will read another 3% too fast in addition to the ~5% over-read that is pre-programmed by BMW. There should be no issued with how DSC function as our DSC is programmed to handle slight differences in front and rear tire sized to accomodate running a square tire setup (i.e. winter tires and inadvertently track tires

).

Forgot to mention that you may notice that your current seat position feels more reclined.

In the past you wanted to move to a square setup due to understeer. This m car does not have under steer issues. Go about 10 to 20mm more tire at each end. 265/295 would be about perfect, imo. The rear stock 265 is a little narrow on a 10 wheel, imo.

No way would i square up this over steer happy car.

I think on oem wheels (9/10 inch widths) ideally the 255/35 and 275/35 size combo is the best setup.

I plan to run ad08 in this size once my stock size re11 wear out.

I am really glad we have 9/10 width wheels, it gives us more tire options and adds some more contact patch and sidewall support due to the wider wheels

Don't follow my lead but i am probably going to put some 275/305 combo on some stock size wheels with 5mm spacer build into the wheels for daily use.

Stock tires are finally worn out and have to do something until the scca works out the new stock rules.
