Yep, will be interested to hear how you like them. Out of interest, what did you pay?

I paid around 1400 shipped from a local supplier. On another note, I have just received them today. Does anyone know or can recommend a place to get them installed? I usually get mine done at Heasmans but its kinda far and expensive (but good work) Or ALS performance. Any comments on where to get it done and the expected price to fit just shocks? |

Cutting it down.
In short, I ended up getting a set of new FSD’s and mounted them on my car with the stock BMW sport springs and stock sways. The FSD’s have maintained the same height of the car (as I believe that springs have the most to do with ride height). Ride quality – well ride quality is very nice. Its only been on for a few days now so will have to drive with it a bit more, but on the straights it rides very OEM like (as in my stage 1) so its very comfortable but feels slights firmer say 10%ish firmer? but doesn’t feel floaty anymore but rather more planted. I have to say though that from reading all the FSD marketing material I was almost expecting my car to float over potholes… alas this is not true… you will still feel them but its not as jarring as even a car with non RFT’s. Initial feeling on corners is that is leans much less now and has lost quite a bit of that unstableness on mid corner dips/bumps. It’s actually quite different to how the car is on the straights as on the straights it seems so OEM but on corners it seems as if its stiffer whilst still being complaint Will post an updated review at a later date. And may consider sways but don’t want to change the innate characteristics of the car too much by going to extremes. Can anyone give me any feedback or advice RE Eibach and H&R sways? There seems to be quite a difference in the rear sway sizing.. which is better for what? Anyways thanks for reading.. Last edited by minijet; 10-12-2009 at 06:56 PM.. |

Thanks for the feedback.
So what would you give to FSDs as far as ride comfort is concerned on the scale from 1 to 10 and where on the scale would the OEM setup be in relation to FSDs? I haven’t driven any 1er coupes so I am not sure if they have the same read end bounce or what some refer to as pogo stick motion, has that been eliminated with FSDs? |

i didnt really feel that pogo motion so much on the RFTs but more so on the Non RFTs hence the upgrade to FSD's. with the FSDs the car is definitely more stable now. |
