Perth drivers....Perth-Bunbury Hwy
For those of you who haven't driven the new Perth-Bunbury Highway, be warned!
It is packed with speed traps! I did the trip today and there were FIVE speed traps including one sly Multanova set up behind a car with it's bonnet up! The others were all lasers. The road has long straights which are a speed magnet! As you can imagine, cruising at 110kmh in an M3 barely idling at 2500rpm is a pain in the *ss! At least on the old coast road you had the overtaking lanes once you got past Dawesville. |

I got an idea !!!
Remove the front plates Well that sort of works ... not sure how to avoid the lasers though ... Perhaps over 220km/h could fix that ... too fast to get scanned hahah lol |

Thanks for the tip! I'm aching to do the Dunsborough to Augusta via Caves Rd in the M3. I did it in the 135i back in April. I might wait for summer when the road is dry. The combination of wet roads with dead leaves is a bit too challenging!

Use a radar detector. They are legal in WA.

Trouble is....by the time it detects a laser Mr Plod had already sighted you and checked your speed. WA cops are getting smarter with Multanovas too...radar detectors don't pick up the one's that are hidden behind trees etc that shoot you in the back as you drive past!
The best radar detector is the oncoming driver that flashes their high beams to warn you. |

I drove aggressively (within my and the speed limits) in the 135 a few weeks ago from that intersection on Bussell Hwy up to Hamelin Bay on that last bit of Caves Rd and it was the best fun I'd had with my pants on for a long time.
