sunroof removal question

Does anyone know if sunroof removal will trigger the warning light on the dashboard? Has anyone removed sunroof on 135i? I am pulling some unnecessary things from my track car and for many of us useless sunroof (about 40 pounds) is located in the worst place, top of the roof

Some of us who track 135i would love to get rid of useless sunroof. A DIY sunroof delete would be much appreciated.

Why would removing the sun roof cause a engine check light? I would just replace the roof with a 128i steel roof.

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't something that talked me out of the 135i.

do you just want to remove the glass, if so its just 3 t20s on each side, pull off the guards, they just pull of and remove the screws. just when you put the glass in makes sure you have it set at the right height or you will create a wind noise problem. it wont cause any light. if it anti traps when you put it back in you just have to reinitialize it and you just push the button up and hold it and the sunroof will go though its motion. if you want to remove the entire thing then you got to pull the head liner obviously
