Vishnu N55 Downpipe Review

Vishnu 3.5 inch N55 Downpipe

This review is to help members gauge possible interest in a new product from Vishnu Tuning. This is going to be straight forward and right to the point (short and simple). The two companies I was debating on going with were AR’s 4 inch dp and icarbon’s 4 inch dp but chose The Vishnu 3.5 inch DP.

We have learned from these forums that the restriction on the N55 is in the stock catalytic converter, removing this item will free up the flow for more horsepower/torque no matter what. I personally chose Vishnu because I could not Pass on the Deal offered, it’s a 3.5 inch DP, and the product didn’t look bad at all, oh and Shiv's dyno results sealed the deal.
Anyways, we can add Vishnu to the N55 downpipe list with AR and icarbon as well now.

Car
2011 135i
DCT Transmission
44XX miles
Mods - Procede V5 and Some Stickers

Delivery
1. In Stock (When I Ordered), and it came faster then estimated
2. Robert@Vishnu - Great first impression, very informative

Packaging
1. It’s a DP, so nothing crazy difficult
2. Wrapped in Bubble Wrapping for Insulation

Install
1. Amateur Install in under 2 hours with proper tools
2. FITMENT was perfect – no issues ( Alignment is KEY, before Tightening anything)
3. Came with gaskets and bolts Necessary for the install
4. Instructions included

Craftsmanship
1. Minimal WELDS
2. Full T 304 Stainless Steel
3. Everything looks consistent
4. Welds are SOLID
5. Brackets for DP Support are really really strong ( MY FOOT CAN TELL YOU THAT  )
6. Bends on DP are Mandrel Bent
7. No sign of grinding anywhere on DP
8. O2 bungs pretty much are in the factory location
9. FINALLY IT LOOKS REALLY DA#M GOOD.

Price
1. Very Fair
2. The DP overall was a great price for the Craftsmanship, Availability and Functionality.

Overall Thoughts
- Exhaust TONE is really deep and throaty now
- Turbo Spool is very noticeable. Old grandmas in their 5.0 mustangs watch out
- Seat to Pants <<< (H@LY SH1T)
- Robert@ Vishnu, easy and awesome customer service
- Low End Torque Improved and, Top End is night and day difference

Good review. I presume you are running the Procede v.5 on otherwise stock engine?
Maxnix, it was done with the lift. But just make sure you have swivels and a extensions. A couple of sizes for the Torx Screws, and a short and deep socket 10 to 13mm.

A catted version? I'm not positive, but you can try calling Robert at Vishnu, he can let you know. Yeah everything is stock other then the procede and V.5....

I like the way they connected the mid-pipe flanges. A smart move to keep it rigid imo.

Very true, this is def a custom flange for rigidity. Looks like a very solid piece.

Yeah the MSRP is like $675.00, Call Robert at Vishnu he may be able to work a great deal.

Don't know really, but from being in the industry the 4 inch dp volume is way to big for our little turbo on the car. And plus its VISHNU.... you just know he does his research.

Pardon my ignorance: Since this dp removes the cat, is this street legal?
