Low Engine Oil Warning - Then max fill indication
I was driving my car for the first time in a couple days, and I got a low oil warning and it said to add a quart ASAP.
I finished running a couple errands (about five miles) and rechecked the engine oil and it now indicates at max fill. The last I checked the oil, it was at max fill so I'm inclined to believe it, but I'm still a little concerned for obvious reasons. Is this an indication of the sensor going or just a one-time glitch? |

That's happened to me when I idle it for a few minutes in my slopped driveway, so it is sensitive to angle.

I think the key part is you said your car was parked few several days. I seem to recall reading (somewhere) that when water/condensation builds up in the oil - it can confuse the oil level sensor and oil quality sensor. I would take the car for a nice long drive and then recheck the oil level via the digital readout. Ofcourse you could always run it by the dealership. G.L. Dackel |
