Best guesses are probably $45-47k US. But I think we've seen estimates as low as $42k and as high as $55k.

I just spend way too much time on this forum.

There's been some debate about the European delivery price. Most logical guess so far is that due to the limited production of the car (assuming that is true), a dealer probably won't be willing to make the usual financial deal that you could make on other cars. But if you're willing to pay full MSRP (or whatever price you would pay to the dealership if you just picked it up from them), then it wouldn't cost the dealership anything. So in that case, I don't see any reason why you couldn't do ED.

Interesting.. 332 ft-lb is the exact torque my 135i w/dinan put out on a mustang dyno, at the wheels.

Yeah but was the rest of the chassis/suspension/steering/braking/balance engineered to utilize that power? NO it was NOT. What good is it if it makes you PLOW through the corner whilst I go to the inside, clip the apex, and apply the power through the exit and down the straight I go. When I leave the exit of the corner faster and already on power you are long gone. Then my properly ENGINEERED chassis/engine/brakes/package let me brake LATER than you at the next turn, and again while you are sawing the wheel to try to get some front end bite, I am already through the corner and setting up for the next turn.............

That EPA website shows the 2011 N55 with manual on 135i at 20 city/28 hwy. So losing about 15% on mileage for about a 10% power increase. Doesn't seem like the greatest deal. Presume they'll do better with the next iteration of the 1M that's more likely to be based on the N55.

336 hp/332 lb-ft biturbo 3.0 liter, 24v inline 6•ZF 6 speed manual
•245/35 ZR19 front, 265/35 ZR19 rear
•Wider track (1.2"F, 1.6"R) and lower (0.4")
•M Sport suspension setup with M Drive button
•4-tip exhaust with fast heating catalyst
•0-62 mph - 4.7 sec (est)
•Est. fuel economy - 17/24 mpg (city/hwy)
The suspension, steering and brakes have been engineered to make this 1 a true M, and word has it that the 1 series M is quicker around the Nurburgring than the stock E46 M3."

If this is a repost...I apologize, but I haven't seen this here.
I can also confirm I have seen details on those exact (Hp) numbers too.

1M will have 250 Kw or 340 PS (Din).

The 135i has 225 Kw or 306 PS (Din).

So... will the 1M still be worth the premium with only a 36 Hp advantage? I still think so. Remember BMW is under rating this engine (N54) in the past and I think now too.

Cant see it being less than $46k base but possibly as high as $48k. With delivery and a couple options $50k+. If they're really only going to sell 500 of them here then you might be bending over and paying sticker. (That could just be marketing bs though.)

M3 coupe is a $15k premium over a 335i coupe remember. I bet we'll see at least a $10k premium over the ~$36k 135i and maybe even a little more.

How does that compare to 135i and M3 base prices?

Closer to 135i?

Cheers.

Mark.

Based on spec. numbers of 1M coupe so far, there is nothing special about it. With M3 conversion kit and KW3 coilovers , Camber plates, i bet 135i will outhandle this car on the track. We can tune 135i engine for less than $1000 and get a lot more power than 336. Ofcourse you can upgrade 1m coupes suspension and engine, but that money will be spent on top of premium payed for m badge.

The whether or not you can make a better car than an M out of the regular series car has been around as long as the M car itself. So you will never win or lose.

The general consensus is that the M car is a better starting platform...which it almost always is.

Im really considering hanging up the vert hat in August for one of these. Too much crap going wrong with my car.

In Aus a 135i RRP on the road is more in the $90k to 100k bracket (options dependent) and a M3 Sedan is $160k plus, retail on the road (options dependent). Somewhere in the middle, closer to the 135i, is where I think the 1M will hit. We shall see.
