What should I get for $700

For $700, what should I get for my 1er?

- CF diffuser (I currently have PE and CF diffuser would look nice with it)
- Blackline LCI tail lights
- BMW Performance Suspension
- BMW SSK

Any other suggestions in that price range? I really don't want to do any engine mods so no CAI or JB4/Cobb.

What's your plans for the car? What are you more partial to, performance or asthetics?

Both, hahaha. Its my daily driver. Don't plan on tracking the car, just street driving. I'm leaning towards suspension or ssk as those are the things I will feel during driving. asthetics is only for the few seconds i see the car when I walk towards it and away from it.

Well if your asking for my opinion... Blacklines

They're so sexy and you'll only have to spend about half of your $700

Hahaha, just notice you're in Tempe, I don't see many other oners and most are driven by old folks! (not that I'm young)

1. $700 will get you a set of Koni's
2. $250 will get you an M3 front sway bar. Probably the biggest bang for the buck and easiest to install.
3. $400-$600 will get you M3 Front control arms. These will allow more camber and reduce understeer.
4. $200-$300 will get you rear sub-frame bushings. Also a lot of bang for the buck but one of the harder suspension mods to install.

If you have sport suspension, I'd probably due #2 and #3 if it were my $700. Wait...I have

Personally, I wouldn't do anything through BMW, there are better options for less money...but I'm not under warranty either.

Can't really comment on asthetics, not really my focus.

BMW Performance suspension is ~$1300, or twice your budget.

You're in Tempe, right?

I would swap out the front sway bar if I drove on your roads.

What year is your 135?

Are you really dead set against a tune? I promise if you got a JB+ you would smile a couple extra times a day with no headaches. Set it at +2 1/2 boost and you won't have any problems if you don't beat the pants off your car as a matter of course.

You can install and then uninstall it in under 10 minutes, even if you're a spaz. But, I guarantee you'll never take it out once it's on.

He also has a couple options for E85...if the JB+ puts a smile on your face, the E85 will have you grinning from ear to ear! Happen to know somebody in close proximity that has a bit of experience with such a thing

N54 or N55 OP?

Diffuser and sway bar could be had for $700ish if you're willing to look in the FS section. IMO a good diffuser totally brings the rear of the car to life, the stock plastic unit is so plain.

ebay Diffuser and LCI blackline tails will come in under your budget and you can do the install yourself easy. Suspension will be out of your budget especially after install costs.

I just put the blacklines on my car after mulling over the purchase for a while and they are the best $380 I've ever spent. They change the entire back end so dramatically.

The SSK is a very nice option. That plus diffusor would be solid. You would get feel+aesthetic satisfaction all in your budget.

He's got the PE. I would just paint the stock diffuser black. That's what I'm going to do. Then you can spend more money elsewhere.

For 750 I got Koni Sport Yellows with Eiback Pro-kit springs. Both with 5k miles on them. Can't wait to install them in my garage come spring.

A lot of people rave about this setup while I was doing my research.

I'd definitely go for springs/shocks. As somebody pointed out already, the Performance suspension will set you back way more than $700. But I think those will provide you with a great handling upgrade as well as a pretty remarkable aesthetic upgrade.

Depends on the type of upgrade your looking for. Performance vs Aesthetics.

Performance - Since it is a DD you're going to want to make sure you take into account (Performance vs Comfort).

Aesthetics - Are you a visual person?

Or if you don't want junk, get the Governor. Or if you don't want a stupid gun, get almost any other mainstream mid to up range pistol.
