That's going to look SO good IMO. I think what I was trying to get at before is.. it's nice to see someone pioneering ideas for the 128i. I know there's love for the car on this board but not a whole lot so keep it up man! I've been glued to some intake/flash threads you've been sharing ideas on too.

In progress, still not done because the e87 grille has tabs that do not line up , so its a little bit more pain

Completed

Some notes:
  • the fangs are fragile and do not like to be bent - this makes measuring hard
  • I measured old grill on the inside side and then made the marks on the inside of the new grille, measuring from the center each time
  • Only the center 4 tabs fit. Alot of the other tabs do not line up, upto 4 had to be cut off in half.
  • Others were simply fitted into new holes carefully made with just a hand saw blade for metal those long ones that look like rulers. It cuts bumper like butter
  • The corner tabs were paired with thin wire to hold it in place to the bumper support pieces
Alliterative, would be to cut off the bad tabs and use wire to hold the grill in place at 4 corners.

I love the look, very e36

Congrats man, looks nice and subtle, more of an extension of OEM. Looks like a lot of DIY fitment checks but I think you nailed it.
