Ships Capacity

Disregard this question. I just realized how idiotic it was. Sorry. I realize that different ships have different capacities. Lets say the Fedora. Does anyone know how many vehicle it can handle? I was just watching a video of the loading and it appears to be very large.

Friend of mine is a Merchant marine captain--he used to sail auto cargo from antwerp to Baltimore (until his vessel was reassigned to haul military cargo for the effort in the gulf).

Anyway, he says his vessel could carry almost 8000 cars when filled to capacity. I'm sure there's alot of variability in the ships though...

Thank you for your response. The reason I cancelled my query is because of just what you said "there's a lot of variability in the ships". Also maybe they carry more than cars which takes up space. I guess it all depends upon the priorities assigned to specific cargo.

I really hate this waiting.

me too. website says my car was completed 3/17. still no confirmation that it's even on a boat yet...
