In other words, will the new '09 iDrive screen work with the old '08 iDrive controller? I personally prefer the cleaner, uncluttered look of just the knob and the single menu button of my '08 setup. |

And really? I guess I just like having more buttons and I think the knob itself looks a whole lot better.

wow I really like the look of the idrive controler. I thought it would have the sliver in it like the current one.
Looks good. I might just do that mod alone. |

what's the status of the Dealer programming (VM number) if your car is not produced with the correct iDrive from the start?

Oh ok, thanks for the update. I was hoping you hadn't given up on this yet as I'll most likely do this if you can get it completed.

I'm trying to track down the display as well due to my scratches as detailed in my thread. Just got off the phone with the local BMW parts shop. They see 18 of them available for order from Germany with part number 65-82-9-193-751 at a lovely price tag of $2300 *ouch*

It seems that some of the BMW parts went up in price by around 40% this month... the 1- and the 3-Series new HD monitor alone went up some 50% over the prices posted at the begining of this thread.
