2011 + HID angels = codes?

I finally got my used camaross hid kit working but now I'm getting a headlight failure code . Has anyone with a 2011 installed an hid kit? Idk what I could've done that would throw a code..

you probably have something blocking the adaptive headlight motor, check to see if anythings in the way.

Yeah, I read a thread about that. I removed the caps and pulled the wires out of the housing to make sure there wasn't anything in the way. The error was still there. Then I plugged my stock bulbs back in, but left all of the hid wires in the housing. The error went away..so it's not just something in the way unfortunately.

I got the error to go away by plugging a stock halogen bulb into the open socket on the driver's side. So I have 3 h8s..Idk if this is a good long term fix though. The extra bulb may overheat the headlight or something.

Maybe I need to plug some sort of circuit in with the right amount of resistance into the open socket?

i see your problem, the kit should have came with a resistor that plugs into the driver's side socket. here's a pic i found of the camaross kit on e90post, it's the part in between the yellow wrapped harness and ballasts.
