really stupid question(s)

I hate to even ask...

my washer fluid light came on the other day, two things:

Looking at the fill tube, I didn't see a fill line. How do you know how much to put in? Is there just the one fill tube for all washer jets? (I'm assuming yes?)

Secondly, the owners manual says to fill the washer reservoir with water mixed with washer antifreeze. I'm guessing any old washer fluid will be fine, but I like the clear stuff that came with the car. Has anyone bought the stuff from their dealer?

Thanks in advance

You just fill it all the way to the top. There's one reservoir for everything on this car. (That's not a stupid question. I had a van once that had a seperate one in the back that took me a month to find)

I like the stuff BMW uses as well. Mine's out and I keep forgetting to drop by the dealer. I'm interested to know what they're charging for it as well.

Isn't that stuff apart of the maintenance program (washer fluid)?? You should be able to just go back to the dealer and they will fill it for free. My friend does it all the time.

I wondered about that. You're probably right. I'd like to have a jug around though just so I don't have to drive over to the dealer to get it refilled.

I'm not sure that anyone being helpless was the point. If you read above, they were referring to the maintenance program, and that a refill might be free.

My Service center is right down the road, and that wouldn't be too hard for me to drop by.

I read the tread, and i dont mind any stupid questions.
But I would never use a service senter to fill my washer fluid even if it was my closest building, and im actualy suprised that anyone even did that. It takes maybe 1min to do anywhere yourself for anyone.

I guess it would have been too much to ask for you to actually READ what was being posted before you started calling people "helpless".

The point of going to the dealer was to get the original fluid because it works well.

Yes i se the point in using the bmw fluid. (but i dont think its better than anything else, and washer fluid cost almost nothing anyway).
But lets end this here.

But lets end this here.

If you understood, then why were you going on about how easy it is to fill up, and calling people helpless, when that didn't have anything to do with the reason for going to the dealer.

So why don't you quote the post that caused you to call someone helpless.

It's very obvious that he's talking about the fact that the dealer will just GIVE us the fluid instead of having to pay for it if we're going to go there for the OEM stuff. What exactly makes someone helpless about that?

They use a dispense system at the dealership, not jugs. You want us to have them pour it into our pocket?

What was the point of coming in here saying that people were helpless because they want the OEM fluid back in their car? :bs:
