Saw M1's today!!

Unless I missed the press release somewhere, I saw two well kept secrets today.

I live in Los Angeles, and was driving today at about 12:30 pm on the 101 headed towards Ventura.

Driving next to me were two black M1's. They were obviously riding together (one behind the other) towards the same destination.

They were both identical and black sapphire, and both were de-badged. However, the "BMW" emblems were on the hood and truck, but covered in black tape.

They looked exactly like the 135, but had duel exhausts in the back, much like the 335's. In addition, they had the ventilation grills or air vents on the sides, similar to the old Z3's.

I had my camera but could not take photos and risk having an accident (sorry).

I think you guys are going to love this car when you see it!

....the 'could not risk accident' is a dead giveaway. If I saw two M1's they'd have to run like the wind to get away from me before I exhausted the battery on my cell phone. But, it does let the imagination run a bit.....side vents...drool

Yeah I saw a M1 today also... it was being driven by Bigfoot and Elvis was riding shotgun.....:biggrin:

Well as it happens I am the only person left in America without a cell phone that takes pics... but I swear it happened... the best part was when an alien space ship hovered over them and the were beamed up into the ship...

maybe he just saw some modded 1 coupes and thought they were "M1s" or maybe he saw some refinished old M1 procars.

who knows, the same happened a little after I got my z4, the M Z4 was a rumor and turned out to be true when I found this sitting on PCH in malibu...

Well it clearly wasn't an M1 cause the M1 doesn't look anything like the 135i...

It's not like he came out with a press release... who said the M1 name is reserved? There are also other possibilities but there sure is room for the car..

Maybe it was the tii ?

I saw an actual classic M1 at the Nurburgring about a month ago... it was just sitting, being all sexy and everything.
