Arm rest too far back ?

I probably should ask who has long arms instead....but seriously....do you think the arm rest is a bit too far back ?

I have even adjusted the wheel as far out as it goes to see if perhaps my arm was just too short. It appears the way the arm rest is designed, the area that I would normally rest my arm is missing ? why chop off the arm rest in the top left corner ? Why not have a shorter handbrake?

On the E46 - It seemed much easier to "rest the arm" while holding the steering wheel...

Are you really short and have your seat slid up? I am not short, and have my seat back, and the armrest is perfect?

it is the distance between the elbow that is supposed to rest on the arm rest and the steering wheel - no matter where the seat is....

Funny! Have you tried grabbing a soft drink out of that rediculously placed cooled beverage holder in there? I think you need to be double jointed to grab it without completely twisting in your seat.

First I thought it was a lil far back but it's good now. If it's placed a lil more forward it would block other things.

thanks E90Fleet but it appears from your photo that the two piece arm rest has the same problem - see the missing piece of armrest from the driver side ? that's the area that my elbow likes to rest on...

yes, but that part is the sliding part. It'll move forward about 4" to meet your elbow.

Yes, When I was in Munchen picking up my car 2 weeks ago...I went into a dealership and tried a car with the moving armrest...it is great...It moves Fw. enough for even the shortest of arms....I think the price was about $300 when translated in USD...

Thanks.
