Rich. quick question, will the quad be 'interchangeable' with the axel back? Meaning if I bought the full downpipe-back with the current axle-back, but say later once the quad is released, will it have the same connecting point as where the midpipe ends so for those of us that want to upgrade to the quad we can do so seemlessly?

Gang,

Just a quick update then I have to run. Been traveling and still on the road attending some business meetings.

As you Ca. folks know, you've seen some rain. A pipe bender that we sub out some bends to had their roof leak badly on their equipment and set up back upto a week so don't look like I'll have my production test part till probably this time next week . I'll update if things change.

R.

Its hard enough to just wait for shipping of the axle back now another week added to the midpipes. It will be worth it though, I will just have to keep myself busy till then.

So do the catless midpipes trigger any codes or dash lights? I have the BMW Performance Exhaust, will I still feel/hear gains with the midpipes?

No codes as all O2 sensors are near the first set of cats (at downpipes), and yes you will definitely hear and see gains (midpipe removes 2 useless cats and a large resonator).

with the BMW exhaust fitting the maddad midpipes will require more work since the bmw exhaust is installed after removing the last resonator in the midpipe. So it will not be a simple bolt on, but shouldnt be too much work.

I don't see any reasons why the mid-pipes don't work with BMW performance exhaust, unless the performance exhaust has different length than the stock exhaust.

It does have a diff length. I believe the BMW PE is a 'cat-back' (i.e. from the secondary cats back), while the Maddad is an axle back. Hency why the midpipes will be longer than what's needed to fit the BMW PE. Rich can elaborate further, but my guess would be you would have to cut the midpipes if you want to mate them to the BMW PE.

The BMW PE consisted of 2 parts, the Y-Pipe (replace the resonator) and the axle back (the muffler itself). To install, they have to cut the mid-pipes to replace the resonator with the Y-pipe. As long as the axle back exhaust is the same lenght or similar to the stock axle back, then all mid-pipes will work for all axle back exhaust.

Hmm, will have to take a look under the car when I get a chance. Definitely would not mind a bit more music out the back.

///M1 is correct. If you read through this entire thread you will get most of your answers as most questions have already been asked. The BMW PE exhaust is the only true cat back exhaust on the market so it will not bolt up directly with the maddad midpipes or any midpipes for that matter. The maddad axel back is exactly what it is, an axel back exhaust. There are a few other axel back exhausts being sold as "catbacks" when they are in actual fact true "axelbacks".
