I just kept complaining of squeaky brakes and finally got them to change both front and rear pads. (The squeak may or may not have been a figment of my imagination )

If you have a turbo motor, you should have the plugs changed at 45,000. Otherwise, it's whatever the CBS calls for.
And you can check the approximate brake pad life remaining through either the iDrive or dash computer. The owner's manual explains further... Tom |

Just a thought. Again, if it's under warranty, get it done at the shop, but afterwards? Just do it yourself. The DIY section should have info for you. Patience, Grasshopper! |

Definitely get new spark plugs and push for new brake rotors & pads. Brake fluid flush/changed Pollen mirco filter (cabin) New wiper blades check coolant level - often times it is quite low at those miles. Top up. Any open recalls? I would decline any SW updates(from my N54 experience). How about your serpintine belt? Check it for cracks. I think at 80K or 100K miles - it should be replaced. But you could try. |

I too am getting within 6 months of EOW (end of warranty, not end of world). What is the minimum they will replace spark plugs? I might only have 42k. Also, slight thread jacking, but $400 for a battery - Really?

My battery was replaced under warranty at a little over 2.5 years and 19K miles. SA said total cost would have been $530 had warranty not covered it. Sounds like $400 for the battery plus one hour of labor.

How long does this $400 battery last? If it lasts 6 - 7 years.. maybe I can swallow the cost. If it's the usual 3 - 4 years.. that is CRAZY!
Is BMW trying to drive customers AWAY from buying their cars in the future? I thought $125 for a battery for my 2002 325Ci was expensive. This is simply amazing.... |

Yes, as long as they have access to the computer.
