New brake pads and rotors thanks to R1 concepts

As title says, I needed to change my brakes because number one, the dreaded squeal was driving me nuts every time I'd be coming to a stop especially at low speeds....and second, is was time to change rotors. I posted a few weeks back about concern of which pads and rotors to go with and was PM'd by Kevin from R1 concepts with a good offer on slotted rotors and semi-metallic Posiquiet pads.

Did the install myself since its pretty straight forward and I've worked on all my cars before so wasn't much work, took a total of about and hour and 20 min on my own with jacks, jack stands and regular hand tools.
The rotors were pretty heavy duty and well made, looks/feels like these can take a beating.

Here's some before and after....

It's been a week since I've had them on and I'm liking the thus far, no squealing, just a little here and there but only when coming to a complete stop from a very low velocity. Also, washed the car yesterday and the dust (much less than before) came right off without the need for scrubbing inbetween the spokes. Over all, for under $400 shipped, front rotors and pads front and back ,definitely pleased. Give Kevin a shout for your rotor and pad needs, they offer some variety of options and for a lot less than what i've seen elsewhere while i was searching.

there is a jack holding the car up, i placed a jack stand there simply as a precaution, its not actually bearing the weight of the car.

There is a jack point a foot away from there, bisecting the car length wise. Just an FYI, as it is a pain to get to.

So far so good, no issues I can really speak of. Squealing is down to a minimum, don't get much that often and the rotors are still in great shape. I don't track the car although I wish I could, but I do some spirited driving here and there just no harsh braking but these rotors are pretty heavy duty.

R1 Concepts should have rotors and pads for the 123d. I'm not sure how different they are from the 128i.
