Used my hands, gripped around the slats and pulled out from the top first with a bit of a jiggle (the clips wont break), the rest followed suit, took all of minutes to remove and change over........

Can you tell me where your Grilles from? I am about to get one from ebay but people said the horrible quality won't fit in great. Now I am on the red light and so ready to pull a trigger on OEM.

Just keep in mind that you usually get what you pay for. I went OEM and they went in so easy, good and tight. Heard more than once that the Ebay jobs aren't the same.

I went for OEM as they look quality kit and are not mega expensive. I followed the IND video advice, removed 4 Torx Head bolts holding front and was able to get in and depress the clips. Job done in around 5 Minutes.
Thanks for the assistance guys. |

That thread is very long and starts with the premise that tools are needed to carefully open the clips. There is an easier way to skin a cat. Grab the grilles on either side by the vertical fins installed on your car now and pulling the straight out(using some force) they pop right out. The new ones pop right in. No tools or fancy tecniques needed.
I was told this by 2 BMW mechanics. Did mine in a few minutes. The last couple pages of that thread descibed the same by several members. |
