Special on Kuhmo tyres!

Hey all,

Found this special and thought it's too good of a deal not to share around:

http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index...owtopic=369686

I'm going to order a set myself very soon.

Anyone from Sydney wanna join in?
if we buy 8 tyres or more we can save on freight and pick up the tyres from the Kuhmo warehouse in sydney.

275/35/18 - KU31 $235 that seems cheap? What are these like compared to Falken 452s or Bridgestone RE050As? The bridgestones are around $800 each?

Thanks Woosh!
I've just contacted them about KU36s for my spare 261 rims to use at the track. They dont' want to fit them (scared of scratching the new rims...) but will sell them to me. They're only a few kms from where I work. I 'm tossing up between 235/40/18s all round (very cheap, high load rating but clearance issues at the front?) or 225/40 front & 245/35 rear. I'd rather use 235s all round so I can swap front to rear when front (left up here) wear becomes an issue. Any thoughts on these clearing the front guards & fitting on the 7.5" rim?

I've never used Khumo's, what's everyone's opinion? I'd be looking at a track/street tyre as I'm too lazy to change wheels.

Just asked a mate who I go to track days with. He's just ordered a set for his E30s and stated;
"Not the same as Kumho V700 or FormulaR or Advan A048 but close maybe 1 sec per lap, so if performance at any cost isn't your aim then will be good value"
&
"NOT a semi-slick but good road and OK track tyre (plus 1 sec per lap) and should last longer as much harder."

Are you going to try and squeeze them on the back of your 135?

Thanks mate. I'm not too fussed about lap times, just drivabilty.

Sounds like theyd suit you then - though the KU31s may be a more comfortable & longer lasting road tyre?

I fancy the semi's, but need to find out if they have my size and if they are non-directional.

Duncan, the KU36 semis are directional and asymmetric judging by the tread pattern. But for $788 a set (fronts in 225/40R18 $213, rears in 245/35R18 $181), they are a bloody bargain!

I've heard good things from the MINI guys about the KU31s but no news on the KU36 semis.

I think i'm going to have to hold out buying these tyres for now. Bought another car which needs the $$ more unfortunately

Good luck to the others buying them. Hope they perform well.

I've ordered 225/40/18 KU36 $213 & 245/35/18 KU36 $180.74 for F&R respectively. You could get 255/35/18 KU31 $236 for rear. Would the 265s fit? Not sure I'd want to run something that big at the track on an 8.5" rim - even if it did fit.

I initially wanted to run the same size F&R & was told that 235/40/18 needed at least an 8" rim so couldn't go on the front. Dealer said I could run 225/40/18 F&R without a problem.
