Interior Trim Choice - Help!

So, I am pretty set with getting either a BSM or AW exterior, with a black leatherette interior. But I can not decide on a trim! I am not a fan of the gray poplar at all. The wood and black gloss are okay. I wouldn't mind the glacier silver if it did not have all that funky pattern on it! With the pattern it becomes my last choice. Is there any way you can get a brushed aluminum trim option?! I am pretty sure BMW has it in some of their models. Any and all comments are appreciated.

Do you have any pics? Is it a wrap of your existing trim or actual new trim?

Is brushed aluminum just not an option anywhere? I love that look!

I think the brushed aluminum is an option in europe but not the U.S. I wanted it too when I ordered my car. I didn't like the texture on the Glacier either. I ended up with the light burl walnut and it looks better than I thought it would.

I'm sure I will be changing it out to the CF trim soon.

I wasn't a big fan of glacier when I first saw it, but I have to say that after living with it for a year, it would be my first choice if I were buying again. The silver adds a nice contrast in the interior, and the texture makes it very unusual. People always comment on it when they first get into the car. It's just a lot different from most other interior trim, and I like that about it.

you have high gloss black, it's not the same as piano black, which is not available in the 1 series.

I have the Gloss Black in Black Leatherette, and I think it looks pretty cool. But if your going to swap for CF you may as well just swap for brushed aluminum by ordering it from europe (they have like 3 or 4 metal trims of indeciperable description). Either way you have to take off the center console for one stupid part.

And no BMW NA doesn't feel you should have the choice. You get Wood (lame), Gloss Black, or Aluminum space bee hive.

I generally like the wood accents, had them in two of my Audis and in my last E90. This car didn't have the wood, it had that gloss black trim. However, not only has it grown on me, but I think I actually prefer it, as if I think about what my terracotta interior would look like with the black and the wood, it would look a bit "busy" to me.

But as always, to each his own.

+1 - the problem with plain brushed aluminum trim is that it will show scratches and fingerprints. Glacier will never show scuff marks, scratches, fingerprints or whatever due to the texture. The Glacier Aluminum trim looks great in an all-black interior, especially with Anthracite headliner. Call it 'space bumble bee' or 'bubble boy' or whatever. If you don't like it, don't get it. Some of us would still order it as our first choice. Black Leatherette and Glacier - it will look as new as the day it came off the showroom for years to come.

The brushed aluminium is called Accent Silver. I have it in my coupe. It is option code 4B3. I also don't like the Glacier Silver. We have an additional new option for a matt alumininum finish called Satin Silver. It is option 4CG but in my opinion it looks like plastic.

Maybe if you beg with your dealer they might be able to arrange the different option.

Brushed aluminium doesn't show any marks. Had my car now for 12000kms and it looks brand new.

I agree. I didn't even want it when I put my order in. The texture was a turnoff. I ended up picking it anyway because I thought it'd match the door handles (which are always aluminum) and my performance pedals. Now I'm glad I went that route. I think it looks great, will be more durable than any other trim, and adds a unique appeal to the interior. If I could order again, I wouldn't change a thing! (Except I would add iDrive!)

Okay, so I am considering the glacier with a black 'ette interior after all the positive praise. Does anyone have any pictures to share? Thanks in advance!

I hated the brushed aluminum in the 335ix I had as a loaner. It just looked SOOO out of place to me. Then again I am not a fan of the regular wood colors. I do however like my gray poplar with black interior. I would probably go with gloss black though if I had a choice.

Sadly in the US you can't. I begged and Pleaded with my dealer but BMW NA knows best.

Have you posted on this website or any other enthusiasts website pics of your trim, if not could you please post some pics option 4B3 trim? If you could point me to one of your post if you already have some pics.

I found this post of yours but could not view any of the pics http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219067

Have you seen the brushed aluminum in an E46 3-series, is it close to that or is it more slick glossy finish?

Some of us hardcore enthusiasts may find a way to get a set or someone doing an ED may want to order a set to pick up when in Germany or some other European BMW dealership.

Thanks
