CF or Piano Black Interior Trim
I spent a couple of hours looking through previous threads and it seems that most are wrapping their interior trim parts. I have an AW with the silver trim (kind of a fish scale texture).
I'd love to have the gloss CF look of the OEM BMW CF spoiler/mirrors. I'm not sure if this is achievable with a wrap (due to the texture). What are the best options for Gloss CF (if there are) Contingency plan - what are the best options for the piano black (does BMW sell these and a reasonable price? Thanks in Advance |

I've heard the texture of that aluminum trim makes it nearly impossible to make a vinyl wrap work. You can buy other trim options from BMW, but they are quite expensive, particularly the carbon fiber.
If it weren't for the difficulty of doing the ashtray in the center console, I'd probably have wrapped mine already, but I'm also keeping half an eye out for someone that would be interested in trading their piano or other black interior trim for my walnut trim. This seems to be the most cost-effective option. |

I just found this thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ht=carbon+trim I think I'm going to by the OEM Gloss Black and wrap only a few select pieces (doors and horizontal passenger trim). It looks like it will be about $300 from BMW and it'll be high quality. I think too much CF looks a bit tacky IMHO. |

The gloss black (piano black) was what I got. I regretted it immediately. It's not like ebony, it has a flake in it. Never seen a piano key with flake unless the Grands come finished like that. Anyway, I wrapped all my trim in carbon. Love it. Check my garage pics if you like.

Sorry for all the double-posts. I've cleaned it up. The site was timing out when I was trying to reply.

The BMW CF is really top-notch stuff. I have the full kit and it compliments the red leather very well. I wouldn't suggest the aluminum- it looks more like finished plastic than metal, if it's the same kind I'm thinking of.
The piano black looks pretty great with the black leather in my eyes. |

3rd row, pics 1 & 2. It's def the best of the bunch, but I can see the flake and it bothered me. It's just not sporty especially when everything else is gloss black.

You can trim in carbon fiber and that is as close to OEM as you can get with carbon fiber. You will not be able to get the clear coat type look though

Oh I dunno, maybe the huge expense of it.
I have the same trim as the OP, textured aluminum metal trim. I quite like it, but if I didnt I would have to get different trim altogether. No way in hell you can wrap this. [PIPEDREAM] I would love to get my hands on a set of matte tungsten trim pieces. That would look awesome. [/PIPEDREAM]

Has anyone actually tried to wrap their Glacier Silver trim? I have using 3M dinoc CF and had absolutely no issues whatsoever. It has been installed over a year and you can't see any pattern through it at all.
I posted some pics in the marketplace as I am looking to trade my Glacier Silver for Piano/Gloss Black. |

I had silver CF trim made by ocarbon.com and it turned out great. It took a while to get it produced but I'm very happy with the results.
