How Long, Boat to Dealership?

Ok, so my 135 is on a boat someplace on its way to the US. When's the earliest I can expect it at me dealer (Connecticut)? Need to start setting my expectations...

March 22, 08 you can have it. Even if it comes in early, they won't let you take it until launch. SORRY I couldn't answer your question.

that isn't exactly clear yet.

from a lot of anecdotal CA info it looks like BMW is releasing cars from the VPCs to dealers on March 13th. There's no reason that local dealers would hold the cars till the 22nd. so depending on your distance from your VPC you can guestimate.

the trip across the atlantic takes about 4 weeks though. so with regards to the OP's question, I'm guessing 5 to 6 weeks from german port to dealer pickup.

The Atlantic trip is only 12 to 15 days. Then (I believe) the car can be at the VPC for up to 2 weeks. Then truck transport to the dealer (couple of days).
So I would say from Bremerhaven to your dealer should be max 5 weeks.

TazioNYC.....what boat are you on ??? Are you tracking it's progress across the big pond?

Not sure which boat -- have to ask my dealer. I think the Owner's Circle site is a few days behind, so the ship has probably been out there for 4 or 5 days already.

Tazio, you can find out which vessel it's yourself. East Coast shipments use Wallenius Lines. You can go here, and enter your VIN in the box. If you are booked on a ship, you'll be able to find out which one.

Check your VIN here Awaiting Transport to see if you are on the MANON (see post #22)

Supposed to arrive at NYC on 3/14 to the processing center and then to the dealer. Guess I'm into April. Shouldn't have gotten so excited!!!

Where's the VPC again?

Jersey City... right across the water from you. I guess it sounds fancier by them calling it NYC. You might get the 135i in March still...

Amazing! Who would have thought Jersey City could be so useful?
