Harsh Shift into 6th
Hi All,
I have a 2009 128i 6AT with the GM transmission with about 76 000 miles at this point (out of warranty). I bought the car in 2012 with about 19 000 miles, and I've been doing mostly highway driving. Ever since I bought the car, when I'm on the highway, accelerating to pass, the car shifts back hard into 6th after I let go of the gas. (This is especially reproducible when the car is going slightly uphill). Otherwise, no problems with shifting at all. Very rarely I get a slight bump when downshifting from 3 - 2 but otherwise no problems. I'm just wondering if this is normal or not, and if it's worth having this looked at? Has anyone else experienced this? From my preliminary searches it might be normal operation for torque converter lock-up... Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. How old is the fluid that is currently in the transmission?

It's on the original fluid. It's been doing this since I bought it though (only had 19000 mi at that time in 2012) - so this isn't a new issue. Shifts are otherwise smooth with no slipping, shudder, or harshness.
