Angel eye LED identification

Hi guys,

So I go out to change a burnt out angel eye to discover this guy hanging out in there all nice and loose behind the cover. I guess that's used car life.

Can anyone ID this particular LED? Looks like the original connector is gone, so I guess I'll just be ordering these and dropping them in. Just don't have the time to mess around with anything right now, sadly.

On the bright side, at least I know what may be causing my adaptive headlight fault!

That other part that it's connected to is just the error-canceling since they're LED. You should be able to pull that out to find that it's also plugged into your OEM connector, thus giving you more options for replacements.

If you want to keep it, any CREE LED H8 for this car should suffice, as it should retain the same style plug as what goes into your canceling device.

Ah! I should've done more research on this. Didn't know these things needed separate modules to ensure zero errors. That also explains why I didn't get an error light when the angel eye went out. Thanks guys!

I'd recommend replacing them in pairs, just get 2 new ones and do both sides.

Also be 100%, not kidding, positive your covers are back on. Not just pretty sure they are on, because if they aren't you'll get water and / or condensation and potentially lose the ballasts next.

Going back to OEM is an option as well if you really don't care and want to be sure there are no extra parts to get int he way of the adaptive mechanism.

Thank for the tip! Yeah, I was surprised at just how difficult it can be to get the covers back in place. The passenger side looks fun... Can't wait

From the look of the links above those do nto appear to be the exact same. There are so many non name brand lights that look the same, so these could be any number of the 40w, 60w, 80w angel eyes out there. I also would recommend getting a full set of 2 lights as if you replace 1 its not likely they will be a perfect match.

Let me know if we can be of any assistance in looking for new angel eye lights.
