Finally got the Borla exhaust on the 135i race car
Hi All -
With the new rules allowing us to shed some weight this year, we thought it was a great time to put on the Borla exhaust. Took it to HP Autowerks in Santa Barbara for the install. First, Peter got the OEM exhaust out. Here's 60 lbs. of German engineering. It goes to one big pipe after the resonator. Here's the Borla kit - weighs about 31 lbs. The old exhaust gaskets after the cats get pretty cooked, so had to go with some new exhaust gaskets Peter got the front pipes in place There are clamps provided to clamp the sections together Then the middle section and muffler Nice looking exhaust tips The system has a great sound, adding a much deeper rumble to the 135i's power

Any chance we could get a video? I know that this exhaust has very little video presence on youtube or 1addicts. I think we would all be interested in hearing how it sounds.

I'll see if we can get one done. Maybe when we are at the new race track at Chuckwalla in a few weeks. We may now be actually to hear the exhaust when the car goes by.

I know when I saw you at Ofest in '09 at Road Atlanta that we really couldn't hear you coming from T5 to T6 (after the esses for those in the know). Good job would be great to hear it! |

It took him less than 2 hours and the only thing to watch out for when done is if there are any leaks at the seams. He had to adjust the clamp location in a couple of places.

same as my exhaust and Inquiry ?
Hi Guys , i just installed the Borla Aggressive , so then i installed the JB4 on map 1 and now map 5 , so many people post that JB4 will work much better on map 2 or 5 after a Downpipe install , so i just ordered an AR DP , so my inquiry is the following :
now my mechanic told me that will be better if i add an Intercooler upgrade ,so this will help to low the engine temp , so i like to know if the intercooler cost ($700 ) will justiffy the benefit ? best regards |

The oem intercooler lacks cooling capacity, an upgraded IC will allow you to make more consistent power. |
