Yokohama S-drive (anyone tried them?)

I'm looking at getting non-RFT tires for my car and just wanted to know if anyone has already tried these on their 1er

I had Cooper tires on my previous 3 series and I loved them but they don't have the right size anywhere for my car from what I've seen

just want to know how they are performance wise and if they wear as quickly as the Bridgestone RFTs or not.

They don't suck, that's about all I can say for them.

Yeah, that's my thoughts as well... The best tires I've ever had were either Toyo Proxxes (so much grip, even in rain and snow) or Dunlop Fierce Instincts (grippy, light, quiet, looked sweet, and had an extra lip of rubber around the inside to help prevent curbing the wheels). The S-Drives I had wore pretty quickly, but were mediocre at just about everything else. Not bad, not good.

Are u looking for summer tire or all season tire? I got michelin pilot sport as3 and they are great. I recommend them if u get any snow or cold weather. They have great reviews and out performed several high performance summer tires

I'm constantly hearing great things about the michelins

I do get snow seasonally, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for everyone when I say that driving in snow on the Bridgestone RFTs is not an enjoyable experience

they cost me 3 tow trucks and almost cost me my entire car when I completely spun out on I-44 last year.

I wouldn't recommend the S-Drives (from my own experience)... Spend a bit extra. Get the PSS.

The Yokohama S drive was a great 'bang for the buck' value oriented performance tire when it first came out about ten years ago. Ten years is a long time in the tire industry....It is showing it's age and there are likely better choices near them in price these days.

Actually they do. Hard rubber compound, uneven wear. They are cheap for a reason.

Never had this issue with mine and it was on a pretty low, AWD vehicle.

Had them on several vehicles. Did not like them on any of them. Even found them slippery when running 215's on my diesel smart.

Agreed. The new Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 sounds promising.
