JUST DROVE a 135i!!!! (pic included)

SO I randomly stopped by my local BMW dealer to chat with the salesman. Some how, I ended up getting a test drive (I'm only 19 btw). We go out to the car and the salesman walks to the driver's side. I'm thinking "awww, I don't get to drive it." He turns to me and gives me the key, shows me how to adjust the seats (duh) and the paddle shifters (duh). I'm expecting him to hop in the passenger's side, but he walks INSIDE!!!! In short, the 40 minute test drive included a 200 ft. burn out next to 2 people on the side walk (can you say tire smoke??) some sideways drifting, and insane corner speeds.

HECK YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Incredible car.

The brakes are really touchy. I was surprised. The exhaust sounds wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very aggressive and racy.

In other words, you drove like a lunatic with no respect for others on the road. I've gotta say, I really don't condone this type of thing, not on public roads. Surely we've learned to keep this kind of behaviour to the track. You won't feel so cool when you kill someone... C'mon guys!

lmao

they could also reward accurate clutch use and whatnot

I'd be there everyday...

unrelated: bmw had the bmw theme park at montréal a couple years ago for the F1 race and in there, they had a former f1 steering wheel, which was wired so that you could time yourself shifting into 1st gear after the lights went off - mock starts - and it was lots of fun!

Well said, and to treat a car like that, it is not your car when you are test driving, respect it a bit, when I went on my test drive, honestly, I didn't go past 5000rpm's, you know what power the car has without screaming it to the max. May not look 19, but acts it.

This is exactly the reason a 19 year old has no business with a car this fast. Not only do they do stupid shit in them, they come to the forum and talk about it and get everyone all riled up.

What dealership was this at BTW? Lets make damn sure no one on here gets the car you ran the shit out of with no break in miles on it.

Never buy a performance car demo - and never, ever, ever, buy a used press vehicle. You think what phool21 did was bad, you oughta see what the 'motoring press' does to them. When the Corvette's would show up in KC after spending time in three other states, there was no tread left on the rears. ; -)

As my salesman said to me...the demo cars get driven incredibly hard. It doesn't matter if it is a base model or a 750..he said they get beat hard. They had an M3 that had 1500km's on it and the rear tires were toast (the fronts were beaten bad...maybe 40% left). They sell the demo cars at a good discount and people line up to buy them. They still have warranties. I think you are nuts to by a demo but he said there is a demand for them. I know I drove the 135 hard in my test drive but I also drove it out in the country clear of traffic. I know I'm not 19 but I had to do a few big smoking bourn outs!!! After my test drive the salesman said I was relatively easy compared to some people. Some drove it like they stole it!

Yeah. It's been a great car. Fast as hell, nice interior, not too bad on gas all things considered. I've had it for about 3 years now, and I'm just ready for something new, and smaller, without giving up too much speed. So here I am. :roundel:

I had a 318Ti for a while and loved everything about it but the power. I don't think that's an issue with this One. GTO is going up for sale in a couple of weeks, once I know my delivery date.

Although its kinda jacked up how you treated a new car with no break in miles, I cant blame you for having fun. Nevertheless, long burnouts is a huge NO-NO for a new car. You put immense premature stress on the engine and clutch.

I'm 23, so I understand you're ugre to to have fun when you are by yourslef, but try to be a bit easier on it next time.

So if you pick up your new 135 and it has more than 15-20 miles on it look out? I think I've read that number on another thread about what mileage gets put on your car while making its way to the dealer

Glade you had fun, and didn't get in an accident. BUT doing a holeshot was not cool at all. Beating it is one thing, but holeshots on new cars is cruel. I have only done 3 in my car in 8 months just to see what it can do.

This kid isn't to blame for his retarded driving. Why the hell did the dealership let a 19 year old kid drive it by himself? What the hell did they think he was going to do in a sports car that wasn't his? Not his fault for them being retarded as well. Oh, and this is of course IF this actually happened which I HIGHLY doubt. I'm sure like someone posted above that he just wanted to rile people up. Happens in every kind of forum. There is always at least "one".
