Yes, the 42offsets will work well.

So, I can't find a single picture of the 135i and the Enkei Is EKM3.
Will the 42 offset bring my wheels flush with the fender? I don't really want to use spacers. Thx |

They will fill the fenders nicely but I suspect you will not find them real flush, especially in the rear. The +32 would be perfect in the rear. However, the +32 will be a bit tight in the front so it's kind of a bad setup either way.

I think I'll spend a little more and go with the VMR 710s which I know the fitment it perfect. |

ET42 would work just fine all around, and give a fairly flush look, especially in the back. ET32 would poke way too much out back and would seriously rub if you're lowered and not running a lot of negative camber.

Make no mistake - the 8" +32 is an "aggressive" rear fitment. However, it's completely doable, it has exactly the same clearance as a 9.5" +45 rear wheel which many people including myself run. The trick would be to make sure you don't have too bulbous of a rear tire on there - a 225/40/18 in a "normal" fitment street tire should be okay, you might need a little more rear camber to make sure you don't rub under extreme dips with passengers/cargo and/or a fender roller but it is a good flush fitment.

I'm having a real hard time sourcing VMR 710's with et45. So, still looking for alternatives. |

There is a sticky with wheel fitment success stories, check it out.
My winter set up is 225 tire on 17x8 et 40. the look is nice and the tire doesn't rub. I think a carefully selected 235 tire may work too. Another alternative is 235 tires on an 8.5 wheel with offset 42-45, it should fit well. VMR vb3 wheels look great in their suggested staggered 1 series fitment with 225 and 255 tires. The V710 is an evolution of Vb3 design, it is a bit less concave, because it has this progressive convexity. If you are going for a square set up perhaps VMR V810 or V702 is a wheel to look at with its Flat face design like it look great on the 1 series too.
