scanning through everyone who has posted an LED problem, seemed to be only 135i drivers except for jkho. I do realise most of the 1addicts aust section are 135i drivers (maybe nearly the entire site) but there are still a few of us 125i'ers who seem to have less to no problems. Im happy about my wee 125i but do appreciate the 135i as a fantastic car Just my $0.02 worth

do the coupe's have different taillights for xenon/non-xenon cars? The LCI hatches do - Xenon's have LED's, non-Xenon's don't.

Surprisingly, to both myself and the Service Advisor at Auto Classic, it's less than $300. Can't remember the exact amount, but fairly sure it's not too much over $200.

Mine went U/S the other day. Dropped by dealer and pointed out that car was technically un-roadworthy. Service Mgr stripped one out of demo and had me on my way in less than an hour. I would be happy if this was the only problem I had with a 6 month old car.

Anyway, anyone with this particular issue "prod" dealer with the "un-roadworthy" line and suggest an istant fix via canibalisation :-)

hmmm, that is reasonable... Although it will definitely not be reasonable if we have to replace them both every year or so!

I tried that line yesterday - the service consultant just gave me his card and told me to give it to the police if I got pulled up. Fat lot of good that will do if I get a fine.

I've joined the 3 - 4 weeks for a tail light club.

Funny thing is, my problem is intermittent and the tail light is working again now, but now the brake light is failing....grrr! I'm going to pull it apart on the weekend and see if it is just something loose inside the assembly and see if I can fix it ghetto style until the new light arrives.

On a positive note I've never really been happy with the feel of the clutch pedal. I asked the dealer to see what they could do - and they've bled the system and the pedal is much firmer and engages the clutch a lot more confidently - so that is my biggest complaint about the car dealt with now : )

Is this some sort of sympathy pain? Because now mine is failing too! Right drivers side LED flickers then fails but is random as it still works 60% of the time. The flickering may be a sign of a loose connection, are the lights easy to pull apart?

I seem to recall from the US forums that it seemed to be that the fault was a bad connection. Maybe it's timed to go out in the Spring in Europe or something?

I think the lights are designed to last no more than two years!

I've got a spare (chipped) LED tail light here, and looking at it, the LED rods are sort of a seperate module, which has some thin wires with a cheap connector on it, which then connects into a socket that clicks into the 'tray' carrying the light bulbs. Assuming the coupe has the same arrangement, it's VERY easy to see how it could fail - lots of points of failure.

I don't know what was wrong with the old $2.50 light bulb from SCA. Some times the simplest things are better!

I wonder if they would be happy to replace both at the same time.
