Some Rusty Cage would be pretty cool.

I have been an audiophile since I was 15 when we had a student stay at our house with a old Dual turntable. I bought my first Linn Sondek in 1984 and have owned all kinds of quality audio equipment since that time - Quad, Naim, Vandersteen, Meridian etc. I am also a musician and have studied the guitar and piano since I was 8.

At one point I had over 2000 LPs (not a huge amount compared to some I know), most which have now been (sadly) replaced by CD.

My point is that I am 'into' music and its reproduction. I am also a 'car guy'. Never would the radio in a car have any effect on my buying a car. So I go into the dealer with my craftily assembled CD, bore the SA to death and then make a purchasing decision based on that?

"Sorry, the imaging in the back seat is off. I'm afraid that I have to leave now and visit the Audi dealer. Thanks anyway."

Come on!

But if I did, I'd follow Zep's advice and take the 25th Anniversary master copy of Dark Side of The Moon and Brothers In Arms just for the title track

I would be curious to hear the latest from those of you that have compared the Logic 7 with the standard 325i system.

This is an interesting topic to discuss, but I hope we all realize that it is far too subjective for any actual conclusions to be drawn.

SteveMD - thanks - I think you got the point too!! Plus, he's already purchased his car apparently. This was just a thinnly disguised "hey what kind of music do you like" post.

No. As mentioned, I did European Delivery but have not received my car in the U.S. yet.

I actually chose music that I could use to setup the equalizer in the car. The " Also sprach Zarathustra" is better know as the theme from 2001 (A Space Odyssey). It has a sound I am very familiar with and it is also a way to test the power of the system.

I chose Superunknown because of the overall sound of the recording. It has deep bass, soring guitar solos, and Chris Cornell's vocals ( "Fell On Black Days," "Black Hole Sun"). I could have picked a lot of different albums for this, but the sound quality on this one is very good.

I also like to get an idea how a system sounds with female vocals. I decided on Norah Jones for this quality. Like the others, the sound quality is very good and that is important for setting up the sound.

Dark Side and Brothers in Arms are also nice albums for this type of setup. Dark Side is almost too complex for setting up the system, but it does help that I know how it should sound. I think that is the main consideration.

BTW None of my picks are my favorite albums. I prefer DSOTM (and many other albums) to any of the three I listed.

At home, I use Avia's DVD setup disc and a Radio Shack SPL meter.
