Build week known- when can VIN be found out
So I'm due to have my car built on Monday week, the 25th and was wondering when the VIN will be allocated.
Anyone able to shine some light on this for me please? |

I would have thought so, Minijet. It takes about 4-6 weeks for the SS Minnow to get down under from Oorop.

My dealer never told me the build week, but I suppose I never really asked. They did always say late July build. Anyway when I found out my VIN my dealer indicated it hadn't gone in production yet. I think that is correct from other stuff I've read, but the VIN isn't known until literally its exact slot in production is scheduled.

Quick update- sales guy is out for the rest of the day so I shot him an email asking to find out the VIN if he could.
I also placed my order for some of the bits from the Performance catalogue so they could be fitted before I took delivery. |

Hmmm, I'm due for an August build too. Must give the dealer a call to see if it's in production yet.

The production week was one of the first things my dealer gave me. He should know this and be able to give it to you. I wonder if the reason they are coy about giving you the build date for your car is that some of these guys are playing funny buggers and shuffling orders about to give more VIP customers their cars sooner. It happens.

Not yet. Don't know if I'll get one until it's commenced building on Monday week?

My experience was I don't know what boat until 2-3 days after it was loaded onto the boat.

Woo-hoo! I have a chassis number. From what I can figure out, my VIN is something like WBAUC72000VF19061 (not sure about the 000 part). It's not shipped yet, but I'll keep an eye on the shipping line website.

Sorry for not replying to this earlier as I didn't see it. But yes, SSK comes with the aluminium knob and alcantara boot. This is why I have a set of these for sale as I bought one not knowing that SSK comes with them!

BTW, the correct link is http://www.analogx.com/contents/vinview.htm Any idea why they don't use the correct "year" code ... should be "8" according to the advice at http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3583
