IDrive/Radio shutting off repeatly and restarting.

Hey guys,

Has anyone experienced this? My Idrive keeps turning off and restarting every 2-5 minutes. Hope its nothing huge.

But, just wondering if anyone has seen this? My 06 3er would shut down every once in a while but nothing to this extent where as my 09 1er NEVER did this. It's just a little scary.

Okay, so after some more driving around and testing different variables, when the NAV DVD is out of the player, the system does not shut down anymore..? Would that mean the DVD ROM is busted? Or maybe the actual DVD CD is messed up and causing the system to crash over and over?

I started noticing last week that whenever I would try and use the nav to get somewhere or to get home, the directions would stop and a warning would pop up saying that the DVD was missing, to please replace. This would happen multiple times I just want you guys to have all the info so it helps in coming to your hypothesis

Let me know what you all think. Also, anyone know about how much a new DVD ROM would set you back?

In my case DVD was bad after got new one and now it is all good...
