Active Autowerke someone please chime in!!! *signature exhaust question*

I am almost decided on which exhaust I want to go with...

It was between the Berk race axleback, berk sport axleback, maddad street series axleback, and the active axleback...

the berk race seems too loud, the berk sport too quiet, and the maddad just seems too bland with not enough brrap in at wot... so i decided i like the sound of actives, however....

tip size?

In all the videos i've seen the tips just seem really small....maybe its just camera angle but could someone chime in on if the tips are bigger/smaller than stock? Maybe even post me a pic

They are dual 80mm tips. I am not sure what the size of the stock exhaust tips are, but you can measure and compare. Active Autowerke makes a great exhaust system. Good choice, you will not be disappointed.

hi guy lemme help you out

i agree with you. berk and maddad street not aggressive or loud at all. berk on n54 does have a bland sound. sorry, but that is my honesty. but berk mid pipe is good so i keep and i keep with active autowerke. active autowerke good aggressive but hope you have good luck to get the good fitment or else active autowerke can be bitch try to not help u. i think they made in china. like me.

i wasnt happy with the berk. they are all going to sound about the same. but i have not heard any one complain about the horn sound on the active exhaust or the maddad. get the bmw performance exhaust. you wont be disapointed with that. it just will cost you more.

We have the CPE axle back with stealth pipe for $699. Great sound with no drone.

i love the cpe setup it just always seemed overpriced but $699 for a catback seems like a steal...what size are the tips? and is that system basically a catless system with a muffler?

The full system with midpipes is $1399 so the best value is the axle back section, like the AA or Berk exhaust. It's $699 and includes polished tips and the stealth pipe. It is not available any other way. Here is a photo of the stealth pipe which when combined with a muffler is the secret to cutting drone.

^ thanks for that. AA has a similar drone chamber setup. i guess it cant eliminate drone entirely but have heard good things about CPE.

Here is mine with powdercoated tips:

Fitment
I heard a lot of different opinions about fitment, my fitment was perfect + my custom black tips achieve that factory look im looking for, it actually looks better gloss black than chrome black.

Drone
it drones a little but I dont really think too much about that, everybody got different taste maybe for you it drones nasty.

Sound
I love the sound on this exhaust. Being a muffler delete, at first I thought it was going to be louder, but it doesnt annoy me at all. Cruising around for daily driving is quiet but when you hit the gas you are gonna hear it

I was waiting to get a CP-E but a local member gave me a good price on his barely used exhaust and I jumped on it. So far Im super happy with it.

I actually want it louder :/

Catless Downpipes!!!

Hope this helps

I've got aFe on mine now but not for long ... moving to the Eisenmann quad real soon. All around I liked aFe a lot. It's aggressive for sure and sounds mean. Once I have that installed I'll be posting the aFe exhaust for sale.

I have the cp-e dp back with resonators and no stealth pipe. Drone around 2k is almost unbearable. Been thinking of sourcing a chamber like the active or the "stealth pipe" and adding it in myself. Personally I think cp-e should do a recall on them, its bad. At wot is sounds great, but not in the lower range...fitment of the axle back is good, resonated mid pipes not so much. Had to really customize the spacing on the support under the car, and it still rattles against it one in a while....
