See this thread. There is an issue with the BMW ordering system at the moment, surrounding trim on the 1er coupe. It's also saying that there's no standard trim for a 128i, and only lets you upgrade to wood (at a cost).
Ask your CA to call BMW NA to get that fixed. |

I told them aluminum, and I am hoping I can change it while it is still in 111 status to grey poplar. I saw it on a 6 series and it is much nicer than it looks in pics.

Yes, same thing happened to me, they said they couldn't get the grey poplar, so I ordered alu. From what I understand it will probably be in 111 until mid Jan. I have a build date in late feb though, so it could be sooner depending upon your prod. number.

has anyone resolved this problem? my dealer just wrote me to say they can't order grey poplar at the moment either. (speculated it might be a supplier issue)
Has anyone successfully ordered grey poplar? (i.e. gotten a priority one build submitted w/ grey poplar) What is the standard trim? Has anyone found a way around this problem? I ask them to change it to high gloss black unless we can find a solution. Thanks very much!

I've still got the opposite problem with my 128 order. They're insisting that I can't order high gloss black (which all information says is standard on the 128). I am required to submit my order with one of the wood trims ($500 option). We put my order in with gray poplar because I don't want to wait and risk getting bumped further down the production schedule. I'm hoping they'll get it resolved before production so I can change the order.
Looks like we've got 135 buyers who want gray poplar and are having to get black, and at least one 128 buyer who wants the black but is forced to go with wood. :iono: |

so you have your build week and your order is now priority one? if so, something is really messed up that a 128 can upgrade to what we 135ers can't even order.
