JB4/Procede for 2013 135i - Compatibility Info Required
In the market to buy a piggy for my 135i but getting conflicting info when speaking with BMS and Vinshu. I own a 09/13 DCT N55 135i and would like to know if there are any owners running the JB4 or Procede on this year model. I checked realoem and noticed that the pneumatic waste gate part number is different post 06/2011 so I'm concerned that the harness will not fit or general compatibility issues.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Last edited by MR RIZK; 10-10-2014 at 12:03 AM.. |

I thought Procede had stopped supporting their product so would definitely go with a JB4.
Before you do though be aware that running a piggyback tune without a flash on a DCT car might end up with a slipping transmission. There is some good info in here http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27137 |

Nugget, Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I only found out about the tricore DME's after I bought the car. In hind sight I would of bought an older used 135i in manual. Part of the reasoning of the Procede path was the "Upshift Softening" option which I was assuming would help with the DCT.
I have come across a boutique tuner that "states" they can flash the DME on the newer ecus via OBD but will not sell it as a product. (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155456) HP goals are around ~380-400whp so I'm hoping that I may be able to dodge the DCT slippage issues. Last email from cobb about 3 weeks ago stated they are not concentrating on the platform and is unlikely anytime in the near future.
With the new models out and turbo replacement options I would expect some drive in this area. |

Wouldn't go a Procede on an N55. I heard bad things, also they're not really developing the product at all so the support that you get (they still answer emails etc), will be quite limited.
If a Cobb flash is not an option I would probably just go with a JB4 as, as far as I know, they are still actually working on development and proper support of the product. I use a Procede on my N54 btw.
