Turbo setup?

Does anyone know if you could take the two twinscrolls from the m5 and put them on the n54?

heh definitely not drop in. the manifolds and turbo housing are 1 integrated piece, the amount of work required to make the swap over is not worth it; huge difference in shape and arrangement of the turbos, not to mention that you would need to build completely new manifolds and have them welded to the turbine housings among many other things

Yea i realized after i posted that it was a v8 i forgot ha but i figured those turbos couldnt be too big so maybe it could have worked but it would have been better if bmw put two twinscrolls one the m1 still pushing out 335 but it would eventually make the car more tuner friendly i cant imagine the decrease in turbo lag from these

Still have the math problem of how to make six cylinders go into two twinscrolls, which effectively has four intakes, right?

yup, it would make more sense to go with a larger single twin scroll, ala N55.

yah direct transplant of that turbo size would prob induce a bit of lag despite being twin scroll. gotta keep in mind that the V8 has 1.4ltrs more displacement pushing those turbos. peak power would be good though

I wonder how the size of one of those compares to what the N55 is running...

Are there ANY twin-scroll twin-turbo 6 cylinder applications anywhere? I can't see how that could ever be made to work efficiently.
