NAMOTORSPORTS | Koni Sport Shocks/Struts & FSDs - 40% off Retail w/Free Shipping

Thank you to everyone who ordered from us in 2008. We are happy to announce that we are having a sale on all Koni parts until June 30th, 2009. They are allowing us to sell their shocks, struts, coilovers, etc. at 40% off retail. On top of that we are doing free shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states.

Check out the Koni Sports and FSD shocks and struts below. If you don't see a part you need, please email us or send us a PM!

All pricing in this post and on our website reflects the 40% off retail pricing.

Koni FSD Shock Absorber Kit

Koni FSD Shock Absorber Kit - $654.99 with free shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states - In stock and ready to ship

Product Description:
The KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock combines excellent road holding and handing characteristics with no-compromise comfort levels. It's a two-in-one solution from KONI that doesn't require the installation of sophisticated electronics, cables or sensors. Firmness for sporty driving on even road surfaces. Smoothness for a comfortable ride on uneven road surfaces.

It's possible via KONI's patented Frequency Selective Damping technology - technology that actively controls the damping level on the basis of the vehicle's body and suspension movement frequency. FSD shocks are a smart suspension system that adjusts automatically and in a fraction of a second to road conditions and driving style.

How It Works (Refer to second image above):

In standard shock absorbers the main damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow going through the piston assembly (1). Combining it with the FSD feature (2), KONI added a special valve that controls an oil flow parallel to the one going through the piston rod (3). This parallel oil flow is closed by the FSD feature, giving a rise in damping force almost linear to the time that the piston is moving in one direction.

Put simply: the FSD feature is a hydraulic amplifier that delays the build up of pressure. In some ways an extra tuning option has been created in order to get the best possible combination of handling and comfort. Since it is an integrated part of the hydraulic valve system inside the damper, no additional cables, sensors or any other electronic devices are needed to operate an FSD damper.

Koni Adjustable Sport Shock and Strut Package

Actual product will differ from picture above.

Koni Adjustable Sport Shock and Strut Package - $670.99 with free shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states - In stock and ready to ship

Product Description:
Many of the KONI Sport dampers are externally adjustable by means of a knob, so they need not be disassembled from the car. The fine-tuning of the damping forces to personal driving style and to different driving conditions is therefore not more than a matter of seconds. The KONI Sport is valved a bit more aggressively than our Special D for performance driving.

Kit Features:
Big handling improvements
Reasonable ride quality
External rebound adjustment on most cars
Best KONI shock for all lowering springs
Re-buildable and re-valveable for custom vehicle setups
Yellow exterior finish
Lifetime Warranty

This Kit Includes:
87411484LSport - Koni Left Adjustable Front Strut
87411484RSport - Koni Right Adjustable Front Strut

I was thinking about doing the fsds with eibach springs, they have that combo sold together for some cars don't know about the 1, any pics of cars with that setup may help me along, how much do the fsds help the ride/handling out? Is is night and day over stock?

Thank you for the questions. Koni does make kits called FSD/Eibach kits which include their FSDs and Eibach springs. They have not put one together yet for the 1 series. I can make a package with Eibach or H&R springs, which would you prefer?

Regarding the FSDs, they are an amazing product. We ran them on our MK V Volkswagen GTI with Neuspeed sport springs and the ride was outstanding. I recommend these for daily drivers becuase they are the perfect balance between handling and comfort.

Would you say that with OEM springs the ride quality will be better or worse?

Using the FSDs with your OEM springs should still be an improvement over your stock shocks and struts

Anyone in the community have these on their cars? I've been considering them for a while but I'm wondering if the difference is worth the $$$. Specifically, I get a lot of vibration on the roads on here and lots of rattling, would this "cushion" that a bit? Thanks

You'll get a nice improvement just ditching the runflats. I run 18" Yokohama tires and the ride is downright comfy. I just ordered the FSD/Eibach combo from another vendor.
