Question Sunroof issue, an odd one

Did my duty and searched before posting this, didn't see anything quite the same;

My sunroof operates just fine, opens and vents and moves around without an issue. However when I go to close the sunroof is where there's an issue. The glass goes down past the roof line and stays there, not sealing flush with the roof. From what I've seen it either just doesn't work at all or gets completely stuck in a spot. Mine does not do that, and I can get it to match the roof line by adjusting it manually with the button until it's in place.

Any thoughts on this?

If you haven't already, try to reinitialize it-
key on, engine off
hold the sunroof button in vent- that is, just press it up, and hold there till it vents, then several seconds later it will do a full open then close cycle.

do not release the button until the sunroof is closed- till it has fully completed the cycle.

hope that helps...

This should work. I had the same problem about 6 months ago and venting until full reinit cycle fixed it.

These cars get electrical gremlins. Thankfully there are ways to reset the systems in most cases.

That's perfect man thanks so much. I figured it was something similar to the windows "auto close" feature getting misaligned. I'll give this a shot and report back with results.

This worked! Thanks 1and1. I had to hit the button to vent, and then hit it once more and hold it for the re-initializing procedure to start. The car put a warning on the dash saying there was a "trap" issue and went through its thing. When it was done and closed the glass was in the right position.
