headliner seemed like it rattled a little behind the sunroof, took it in and BMW service removed the headliner inserted foam blocks and sound deadening and then reinstalled the headliner, no more rattles now

Mine was rattling like hell but the dealer could not duplicate. I haven't heard the rattle since... Maybe we scared it away?

i have this rattle lately. on hard roads in pretty much any weather but im thinking it goes away with heat now actually.
I can make it rattle any time by just playing bongo on the headliner above where the rear left side seat is. it sounds as if a cable is loose or some kinda of cord or harness. slightly like a metal clothes hanger is in there bouncing off the roof. anyone have a diagram of the components in the sunroof?

Reviving an old thread. I have a really annoying squeeking from the right (passenger) side of the moonroof, but ONLY when in the vent position. The noise is coming from directly over the passengers head. Bad enough I can't drive with the roof in the vent position anymore.
Looks like there are small air deflectors on the sides to prevent wind from coming in the sides in the vent position. Looks like the deflector is rubbing against the paint of the roof on that side. Is there a way to adjust the glass a bit so it is no longer rubbing? Anyone? |

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=54_0341 If so, ya, looks like it bolts to the glass assembly. May be able to unbolt and slide over just enough. Good call. |
