United BMW - BMW Performance C/F Strut Brace $350.00 + shipping
Quote:
Buy it now Could fit: 335i, 135i At your own risk. N54 engines already have a strut brace, but you can add the BMW Performance to enhance the look of your engine bay, and possibly have better performance handling during hard cornering. Note that 135i / 335i owners may not return this product unless it is packaged new in the box. Dan Miles 678-832-4667

is this mostly for appearance only or can we expect real performance in handling?
I would like to hear feedback from people who installed this. Price is too good to pass. |

Strut braces do very little and this one does little. It is mostly for looks but looks dam good, compare it to the vorshlag and see. The vorshlag is ugly as sin but no doubt works
EDIT: Not vorsteiner, VORSHLAG

Is the handling noticeably different with a strut brace? In my opinion, not really (story below). You can tell the suspension is a tad stiffer when you're cornering hard, but normal day-to-day driving you won't even notice it. I'm just being honest. However, this is a STEAL compared to the $998.00 BMW had it listed for earlier.
135i's/335i's with aftermarket intakes will have no clearance issue whatsoever. However, those without aftermarket intakes will have less than 2" clearance between the intake box and the strut brace. *These cars handle great from the factory, period. I bought my 2005 325i brand new and loved the handling. My first mod? A carbon fiber strut brace. Yep, it stiffened the suspension a little, and I could tell when I was going around some corners hard. However, point daily driving and comfort was not compromised after installation. /story
