The only 135is that I saw that was not "overpriced" was for sale somewhere in the SE and had a whole bunch of aftermarket mods on it, that the seller (a 2nd hand dealer) could not vouch for as regards function or even whether they were properly installed in the first place. The most the dealer would say and guarantee was that the car was running . . . . now. Even though there was warranty remaining on the car, it appeared that the warranty had been voided as evidenced by the fact that the car had never gone back to the BMW dealer and was having its oil changes done at a quick lube shop. I would make the best deal I could make on a 135i, equipped the way you want it, then consider upgrading parts of it as you see fit based upon your own experience with driving it in the stock condition. |

+1, if you're not the mod type go IS If you plan to customize it, get a 2011 N55 and chip it and go nuts |

Since every opinion here is bias here goes mine. I choose the i over the is because I didn't like the 313 wheels, the badge in the inside and I wanted wood trim. I added the PE and the PPK for 1050 installed. So besides the water cooler which you don't need and the wheels your car will perform just as well as the is and you will save money! The PE is worth every penny sex to your ears as my wife would tell you. Also living in VT I would argue that it is better to have a 6mt then an AT. Just my opinion!!!!

You want the manual, get the manual. That seems to be the deciding factor. You can add the Performance parts (as been said before). The 135is doesn't have a manual. The 2012 135i DOES. Easy decision. Or keep looking for a 135is with a manual if you HAVE to have a 135is.

I am leaning to the 2013 is since it is white with black interior.
The DCT trans was a lot more fun than i thought it would Be. So, even though i wanted 6 sp, the dct did win me over. Time to fly out and srive it back. |

A lot of people change the runflats out as well. A popular tire here are the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. You should get a lot of suggestions here as people have varied opinions on the subjects. Good luck with whatever you do.

FIRST: learn to do simple maintenance yourself, ie: oil changes, air & cabin filters. Then, learn to inspect brakes, followed by doing brakes and brake flush.
SECOND: take a proper driving school; the car is far more capable right now than you can likely handle. THIRD: join BMWCCA Otherwise spend money on good tires and brakes (pads & rotors; you donot need a BBK) |
