I would say wait now, at least until the coupé is available in the showrooms so you can have a good poke around. I ordered my e90 in early January and the coupé was just too far off at the time, but if I had to order now, I would wait.

You should wait if you currently have a car until September and see what happens

Definitely wait. You may regret a hastly deciscion to buy now. Good things come to those who wait. Plus, it alway makes sound financial sense to wait on making a new car purchase, if you already have an operating car.

If you are getting a coupe and want the latest then wait as it's confirmed and known that there will be new coupes coming.
However, the lease rates for current E46 couples are extremely competitive, plus I'm sure you can negociate even lower purchase prices and combine that with the low rates. You'll still have an excellent 3 series coupe. Plus, you could get a ZHP model, which is plenty quick, and you could get a great rate on a 2 year lease.
That would put you in a sweet BMW and then give you time to decide on the new coupes after they've been out for a year or two.

If you plan on a sedan, the I wouldn't wait. I'm planning on a 330i.
My current E46 lease is up in 2 months and I'm not waiting for some rumored "new" 335i. I don't think the 330i is being replaced by a 335i. If the 335i does come to reality and to the US, it'll be an additional model that will cost more than the 330i, and I'm perfectly happy with the E90 330i as it is. Afterall, it's a brand new model that hasn't even started it's 2nd year of production in the US.

I asked about this rumored 335i to a couple of trusted BMW sales guys and both agreed that it will probably be an additional model not a replacement. This is for the sedan, not the new coupes.

lease now, see what it's like in 2-3 years (and what iDrive/Nav is like), turn it back in for a new one. Best of both worlds. That's what I'm doing.
