Tri-Cities Raceway in West Richland, WA.
The place hasn't been used for Nascar racing for about 20 years, as you can see from the grass growing out of it. It is the usual sad story for motorsports venues. It was built close enough to town to be easy to get to, and then the town grew and the new neighbors started complaining about the noise . . . no more race track. The land is slated for commercial development, but hopefully we will have use of it for 5 more years. The oval is paved with smooth river rock asphalt, which is treacherous when wet, hard to stand and walk on let alone drive. Fortunately we don't get much rain here. Here's video from an event yesterday at the Meadowlands/MetLife stadium (you can see it in the background):

Nationals are this week so many of the top area drivers were not present.
Twenty seven drivers and I was Second overall. This was my second best run- No video of the best run. I am still trying to get things coordinated and actually take and notate tire temps, and also video. Overlay is all via the M performance Drive Analyzer App - iPhone video - I hastily attached the Ram mount - bumps on course may be slightly exaggerated If I find time I'll add a " traction limited " run also. Since ya mentioned SCCA Nationals, here's my second run on day two (no day one as the battery was dead on the gopro). I was 11th after the first day and would have been 7th if I hadn't nicked a pylon. The second day I just wasn't as focused/good and ended up in 12th.
https://vimeo.com/182156495 Kerry and his co-driver Jeremy were there. Jeremy was in 13th the last trophy position. Three 1Ms in the class. There were 48 total competitors. I had lots of fun. I may load up the suckful third run that I hosed the right hander after the run along the snow fence.

Wow, that's a long East course, Matt!
I need to get out there again, looks like the course was flowing really well, no super tight corners. So the stock classes are on street tires now except for SSR? Also, if you want better sound, get a go pro housing ANDFR-302, I'm assuming you are using what was in the box? Alex. |

SSR is the only hold over from the "Stock" category. The execution of the elimination of the Stock category was horrible. To be honest the audio isn't a major concern of mine. I mount the camera right near the rearview mirror and let it roll. I like a lot of aspects of the Garmin VIRB Ultimate 30. Lots of smart stuff in it and they price matched the GoPro Hero 5 ($399). If they had done it at Nationals I prolly would have bought it, but the Hero 5 hadn't been released with a price so the Garmin was at $499. Plus the marketing folks disappeared on the last day. I was looking to cut a deal.

Helmet cam! Okay, I probably won't do this location for the camera again. Last event at the Meadowlands with Northern New Jersey Region of SCCA. I would have PAXed 23rd on the B Street factor but I run A Street Prepared there. A M235 was my competition, with VW coil overs and a Dinan 2 engine tune on Hoosiers. I was second on Bridgestones and basically a stock set up.
