Looks great, but I wonder what made the previous installer go over the rails like that??
Looks a lot like my roof Mine is just not extended over the rails....

I wouldn't wrap the rails, either, if it were me. I'd go under them like you did and leave the rails alone.

I'm assuming that isn't 3M's product?

No, it's Foliatec. Couldn't get a hold of 3M at the time...

Great pics dela. My plan was to cover over the roof with 3M diNoc as you have done and do the rail section in high gloss black.
Has anyone attempted the install themselves? this would work out a lot cheaper if i could do it. I'm not worried about applying the vinyl, it's just pulling apart the roof if I need to. |

I saw on the web you can buy a entire ROLL of 3M's DiNoc for like under $400. That would be enough to do many, many cars (20+). I was thinking of doing my (kitchen's)Fridge in this stuff... just to practice with it before doing my roof! |

My detailer didn't even take the rails of as far as I remember. The foil is just worked around the 'bend' in lack of a better word.... Only little grief is getting the base of the antenna loose, since they had to loosen the headliner inside the car, but it was still a very short process. I think my roof was around 570$ here in todays currency.
