Kind of like saying I've run no filter for 10 years with no problems at all. It ain't necessarily true, although you might think it is. Once you do the tear down and measure, I assure you there will be a difference. One wonders why no OEM uses an oiled element filter if they are so good? Those stupid OEM engineers!

Anyone who has changed their own air filter knows there is already too much atmospheric oil and grease present. It is never a good idea to put oil in any form upstream in an engine induction unless you are running a 2 stroke.

Yeah, based on your comment, I didn't realize that I never changed my own air filter. So, I'll have to take your word for it.
I was going to add an oil spray kit to keep my filter nice and oily, but now I'm seriously reconsidering.
