Aftermarket Wheels For 135i M-sport
My AW 135i is 5 weeks away and I intend to take off the stock wheels and tyres pretty much straight away. The reasons being:
So the plan is to get some wheels (18s) to give the car some individuality and probably shoe them with Michelin PSS, 225x40 and 255x35 with 8 & 9 inch rims, or perhaps one step up with 8.5 & 9.5. I will store the OEM wheels & tyres for when it's time to sell. I have been researching this late into most nights and I guess as most of you would know, it's a nightmare finding much that is available in OZ or anywhere else with the offsets required. I've looked at the Breytons etc. but at this point, I am probably leaning towards the Apex Aero-7 in anthracite, I see too many mesh designs around these days. I have looked at the Advan RZ and they look gorgeous, but I guess I'll have to sell a kidney to put those on Anyone here got them and what makes them so special? (apart from the looks) So, I'd be interested if anyone has any other suggestions??? Anyway, here are some borrowed pics of the Aero-7 rims from another members car that were posted on the forum: |

I don't like those wheels at all.

The colour on those is ok, but the design is not my cup of tea either.
I think the money spent for a change is more justified by getting a set of 19" wheels and tyres. The price variance is literally 2-300 for the package (was for me and that's for a set of forged volks). If you're on a tight budget, VMR also have some well priced options. |

I think the best 18" options are the BMW 313 style ones or the Alufelgen CS7 rims.
Here are the 313s on an Alpine White if you want to get an idea: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...766514&page=19 The CS7s can be found in these threads, though they come in several different finishes. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=616874 http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8807256 |

The Aero 7s look good in gloss black. I have the RZs, yes they are expensive but they are light strong and look really good IMO. I wanted something i could use on the street and track and not worry about them breaking.

I have some VMR 701's coming next week. In Hyper silver. Welcome to have a look if they float your boat since we are both in Perth.
If you want 313's, Stuart at BMR will get you the worlds best deal on those, delivered to Perth. I know cos I thoroughly researched prices. Either way, you got to do what you think is best. For every option, you will find supporters and detractors....... |

Thanks guys.
Yeh I'm flip flopping all over the place on the wheels. I still think silver is the best colour on AW, gives it a classy look. I think gloss black might also be an option. It's funny, I had looked so hard and convinced myself to go in between, I had already changed my mind on the Aeros when I got up this morning. Thanks for the offer Nishan, I might take you up on the offer once they're fitted. Nugget - where did you get your RZs, can you PM me? ...and where do you get the Alufelgen rims, is it Mod bargains? |

imo when going white with black wheels you'll need supporting mods (i.e black roof, mirror caps or dark window tint) to make it flow. Otherwise its too much white with too little black...
considered GTC-Wheels? practically the same a VMR wheels but for less |

Guys took the car to John at Wheels World for a pre fitment check and he confirmed that I would have no issues with the VMR 701's.
I also intend to lower it on KW Springs (coilovers will have to wait and even with the potential 30mm drop, he said there should not be any rubbing issues. Still waiting on the springs to bounce into Perth. Will put up some pics once done..... Should plan on a meet-up in the near future perhaps at some place central to all for a coffee and car chat...... |
