I think the biggest step up in the M3 is the chassis/suspension. It's just so settled through hard cornering which I love. And I fking love the look of it. I'm out at eastern creek next wednesday so that will be the true test. I tell you though, if Alpines' 1m was up for 95k when i bought the M3 it would have been line ball.

edit: Question for you as well actually - you and I both got 135s early on - what's the difference on, say, a scale in % between 135 and 1M.
In my eyes, there is no comparison whats so ever..and most other 135 owners who traded "up" to a 1M would agree I think.

From the moment I drove out of the showroom I was a amazed, how there was NO similarity to the 135i I had left behind. ( parts of the interior trim not included ).

Other current 135i owners might argue this point, but after tracking the 135i, then the E92 M3 and two week later the 1M, it was a easy conclusion for me....AGAIN based om my opinion only..

Yeah. that makes sense. I think to drive fast and hard , as well as a daily diver the 1M is the car to have. I last went to the track in my 135 and there was a VO 1M there and I was behind him and could not even come close to keeping up with him. That was a big surprise. With the tune/exhaust it must be a nasty bit of gear.

If i see you at the track I might just ease out behind you so you can't say you destroyed an M3

I think the Po-Po up here have one of every Jap tuner car, and even a couple of Euro's as well.

Just drive normally and there won't be a problem? Or is it more for the defect/modified cars thing people don't like HWP?

Just seems like typical Australian politics to me. Fed's decide to give out some taxpayer funded, vote buying bogan welfare in the form of cheap V8 utes and discounted fuel to the same people that avoid paying tax themselves. Then the taxpayers have to pay for the states to equip their cops with the same v8s and fuel to catch the bogans driving their overpowered utes like f-wits. Might as well just burn money!

V Dark tint is my usual give away. There is a unmarked silver SS around my way and he does great business.
Apparently they can drive illegal modified cars

They can also use a mobile while driving

Starsky & Hutch would be jealous of some of these paint schemes.
