02's

i currently have a 2008 135i n54 took it to the track stock with afe intake. 13.6-103 put a cobb and hit a 13.2@107. in the 1/8 i gained about 4 mph with cobb my 60ft sucked due to that i spined so i know i need slicks but what else can i do. i used to be a chevy guy with a strocker so i know that for my 60ft i would need a stall but i am new to the beamer world also my car is automatic should i upgrade to the manuel gears...

thanks in advance

Sorry to be anal but firstly some spelling, punctuation and grammar wouldn't go amiss.

To answer your question, if you have the automatic, the best way of launching is through brake boosting. Hold the brake pedal hard and then the throttle at whatever launch RPM you deem the best and when the christmas tree goes green you just let go of the brake and floor the accelerator.

You can do this in both 1st or 2nd gear. Of course it depends on your grip and power levels as to what gear and RPMs you launch in but only trial and error will give you the most definite answer.

Automatics will no doubt get your the fastest times. You just need to get the hang of launching out of the hole. Another thing you should consider is the Alpina Transmission flash. It should improve your shift times and hopefully also your 1/4 mile times.

you don't need a higher stall/upgraded converter, what you need is traction. The stock stall is dictated by boost, the more load/boost you throw at it, the higher up it will inch (be careful not to overload/heat the TC). Stock stall can hit over 2500rpm, which is more than enough. look into a drag setup, with some fatty M/T's or even a Nitto.
